Minnesota Woman
First known as Minnesota Man or Pleistocene Man. The remains were held by the State Archeaologist from 1931-1999.
They were also displayed at the Minnesota Historical Society from about 1965-1969.
The skeletal remains of Minnesota Woman were reburied in South Dakota on October 2, 1999 and are not available for further study.
The book: Pleistocene Man in Minnesota: A Fossil Homo Sapiens by Albert Ernest Jenks, Ph.
D., Sc. D. and published by The University of Minnesota Press in 1936 fully documents the find, its geological situation, and contains a detailed description of the skeleton. This book is available to view in our research library.
